Early Life
Anne Hampton Potts was born on October 28, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Her parents are Dorothy Harris and Powell Grisette Potts. Anne has two other siblings. Anne grew up in Franklin, Kentucky. Anne went to Franklin-Simpson High School. She graduated in 1970. She pursued a degree in Fine Arts with specialisation in Theatre Arts from Stephens College.
Career
The beautiful actress made her first appearance in the TV movie “Black Market Baby” in 1977. She made her major appearance in 1978 featuring in “Corvette Summer”. She received a Golden Globe Award nomination in 1979 for her role in “Corvette Summer”. In 1982, her role in the movie “Heartaches” won her a Genie Award for Best Performance by a foreign Actress.
She won the admiration of many in her role as Mary Jo Shiveley in the CBS sitcom “Designing Women”. Annie won a Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress for her in Love & War. She got nominated twice for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy series in 1994. The actress has featured in several series including; “Magnum P.I.”, “Men in Trees: Lessons of Seduction” (2007), ), “Ugly Betty” (2008), “Boston Legal” (2008), “Grey’s Anatomy”(2013) among others.
Anne Potts acted Bo Peep’s voice in the “Toy Story” franchise. She later revised her voice for Bo Peep in “Toy Story 4” in 2019. Anne has been the main character on the CBS sitcom titles “Young Sheldon” in 2017.
Personal Life
The actress has been married four times. She got married to Steven Hartley in 1973. She was involved in a terrible car accident with her husband causing him to lose a leg. The two went their ways in 1978. Annie got married to Greg Antonacci in 1978. The marriage lasted only two years. She later got married to Scott Senechal in 1981 which ended two years later. The couple had a child. In 1990, Anne Potts got married to James Hayman. Annie has two children with James Hayman.
