Anthony Kiedis was born November 3, 1962 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At the age of ,his parents divorced. His mother later remarried, leading to the births of Kiedis’s two half-sisters. Kiedis, Slovak, and Flea began to create music together in the early ’80. They later brought their friend and former classmate Jack Irons on board. The friends were influenced by a punk/funk fusion band dubbed Defunkt. The quartet formed a group originally known as Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem.
