Kamara was born and raised in Ivory Coast, where he spent his childhood playing soccer. However, when he was 14 years old, his family moved to the United States, settling in New Jersey. Kamara did not speak English when he arrived in the United States, but he quickly learned the language and adapted to his new environment.

Kamara attended Hoboken High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track and field. He played defensive end and tight end on the football team and was named the Hudson Reporter Defensive Player of the Year in his senior year. Kamara also played basketball and was a standout in track and field, where he competed in the shot put and discus events.

After high school, Kamara attended Kent State University, where he played football for the Kent State Golden Flashes. He played defensive end and was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team in his first year. Kamara continued to improve over the next three years, and he was named to the All-MAC Second Team in his senior year.

Azur Kamara NFL Career

Despite his impressive college career, Kamara went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. However, he was signed as a free agent by the Dallas Cowboys shortly after the draft. Kamara spent the entire 2013 season on the Cowboys’ practice squad but was waived the following year during the team’s final roster cuts.

Kamara was out of football for the entire 2014 season but was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in January 2015. He impressed during the team’s training camp and made the final roster for the 2015 season. Kamara played in nine games for the Chiefs in his rookie season, recording six tackles and one sack.

Kamara played for the Chiefs for two more seasons before being released by the team in September 2017. He signed with the New York Giants in October 2017 but was released a month later without playing in a game. Kamara’s NFL career was cut short due to injuries, and he announced his retirement from football in July 2018.
