American football quarterback Blaine Williamson Gabbert plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). He started playing in the NFL in 2011.
Blaine Gabbert – Early Life
In the American state of Missouri, Gabbert was born to Chuck and Beverly Gabbert. His siblings are two. Brett Gabbert is his little brother, while Tyler Gabbert is his older sibling. Football is a sport that both brothers enjoy. He participated in football for the Parkway West Longhorns while a student at Parkway West High School. In the US Army All-American Game in January 2008, he participated as a senior and accumulated 623 passing yards and five scores. He racked up 1,523 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore, in addition to 458 yards of rushing and another eight scores. He started his sophomore season as a starting quarterback and threw for about 1,100 yards and 11 scores.

After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Missouri where he played collegiate football for the Missouri Tigers. In 2010, he coached Missouri to a 23-13 win over Illinois in the season opener. He completed 34 of his 48 tries for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Despite suffering an injury in the fourth quarter, he still managed to defeat Colorado. He finished his final campaign with the Tigers with 3,186 passing yards, 16 passing scores, nine interceptions, 232 rushing yards, and five rushing touchdowns. He made the decision to forego his senior year and instead declare for the 2011 NFL Draft in January 2011.
Blaine Gabbert – Career
Gabbert was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 10th overall selection in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft in April. He formally agreed to a four-year, $12 million starting deal to play for the Jaguars in July. He was dealt in March 2014 to the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 7’s 42-17 defeat to the Denver Broncos in October 2014, he made his regular-season 49ers debut. For 38 yards and a score in his lone game for the 2014 campaign, he completed three of seven passes. He was re-signed by the 49ers in March 2015 to a two-year, $2 million deal.
He had 925 passing yards, five passing scores, and six interceptions for the 2016 campaign in addition to 173 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. He committed to the Arizona Cardinals in May 2017 on a one-year deal. He completed the 2017 season with 1,086 passing yards in five games, six scores, and six interceptions. He joined the Tennessee Titans in March 2018 and agreed to a two-year deal, but he was released in March 2019. He joined the Tampa Bay Bucs later that month. He was once more re-signed by the Bucs in April 2022. Bekah Mills, whom he encountered while studying at the University of Missouri, is Gabbert’s wife. Leyton Mary Gabbert, their daughter, was born in 2021 after their marriage.
