Carl Paul Nassib happens to be an American professional football player. He plays as an outside linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He has been active in the NFL since 2016.

Carl Nassib NFL – Early Life

Gilbert and Mary Nassib gave birth to Nassib on April 12, 1993 in the American city of West Chester, Pennsylvania. At the University of Delaware, his father Gilbert played football in college. Ryan, who was a quarterback at Syracuse University and an NFL player from 2013 to 2017, is his elder brother. In addition to playing football, Nassib attended Malvern Preparatory School. During his junior and senior seasons, he assisted in guiding the squad to a 7-4 record. He began attending Pennsylvania State University and, in 2011, he became a walk-on member of the Nittany Lions.

In 2013, as a sophomore, he participated in 10 games after sitting out the previous two seasons. He played in all 13 of the games as a junior, recording seven tackles and one sack. 2015 was his senior year and it was then that he first started. He was selected an undisputed All-American and the 2015 Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year for the Big Ten after reaching 10 sacks in just six games to begin the season. In addition to receiving the Lombardi Award for best college football linebacker, he received the Hendricks Award as the greatest defensive end in the country.

The Cleveland Browns selected Nassib with the 65th pick in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He agreed to a four-year deal in June for around $3.2 million, including a signing bonus of nearly $890,000. He recorded one sack, three tackles, and one pass deflected in his debut game as a pro, earning a consideration for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. After participating in 14 games as a rookie, he started in 2017. In September 2018, the Browns released him. He was picked up off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in that month. In 2018, he recorded career highs in sacks and tackles for loss. Nassib agreed to a three-year, $25 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2020, with a guaranteed $16.75 million of that sum.

He made his career debut by intercepting a pass in Week 10 of the 2020 campaign. The Raiders cut him loose in March 2022 during the offseason. He chose the number 93 when he signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August 2022, but he finally managed to keep the number 94 that he had worn since he began playing football in high school.
