Carmen Jane Plant was born on 21 October 1968, in Birmingham, England. She was born to Robert Plant and Maureen Plant Wilson. Carmen is the first and only child to her father Robert Plant and Maureen Plant Wilson. Her parents Robert and Maureen also had two sons named Karac Pendragon who passed away at the age of 5, and Logan Romero who was born in 1979, four years before the couple divorced in August 1983.

Carmen attended the Elmfield Rudolf Steiner School in Stourbridge, West Midlands in the 1970s. Her voice featured in the background on an out-take of ‘Bron-Y-Aur Stomp’. The song “The Ocean” done in 1972 has a line in the song dedicated to her: “I’m singin’ all my songs to the girl who won my heart, She’s only three years old but its a real fine way to start”. The Plant family sustained serious injuries when their Austin Mini veered off the road and collided into a tree. Carmen was in the back seat and she suffered a broken wrist, cuts and bruises. Led Zeppelin reformed with Jason Bonham on drum for the 21st birthday of Carmen at Hen & Chickens public house in Oldbury, West Midlands. Carmen Plant got married to bass player Charlie Jones on 18th May, 1991. Charlie Jones had earlier toured with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Roy harper’s song “Evening Star” was apparently written for their wedding. The couple’s wedding reception was held in a series of marques at Robert’s farm at Kidderminster.
