Chigaco Bears Drafts Picks 2023
In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Chigaco Bears will have their first-overall. When the Houston Texans shockingly beat the Indianapolis Colts in the season’s last week of 2022, it was a present unanticipatedly given.
Possibly a parting present from former Bears head coach Lovie Smith, who brazenly chose to go for a two-point conversion to secure the victory over an extra point to tie the game.

The Chicago Bears addressed a question that felt like it was always “when” rather than “if” on Friday, surrendering the No. 1 pick of the 2023 draft to the Carolina Panthers. Together with receiver D.J. Moore, they also got the No. 9, No. 61, 2024 first and 2025 second in exchange.
Although it would initially sting Bears supporters to not see No. 1 up on the board, they should find comfort in what they are now seeing.
After trading their first pick for Chase Claypool in the middle of last year’s season and obtaining another by dealing Roquan Smith to the Ravens, the Bears now have two picks in the second round. In the first and second rounds, they will have three picks.
As the NFL revealed which clubs received compensatory picks on Thursday, the Bears were given an extra pick in this year’s NFL draft. An additional seventh-round pick, the 258th overall pick, was given to the Bears. That will be the draft’s next-to-last selection.
Comp picks are given out at the conclusion of rounds three through seven. Teams that had more significant player losses in free agency than gains during the previous offseason are given the top picks.
