Cynthia Nixon was born on April 9, 1966 in Manhattan, New York City. Her father, Walter was a radio journalist whilst her mother Anne was an actress. At a very tender age of 6, her parents divorced. She went to Hunter College Elementary School and Hunter College High School. Cynthia had her undergraduate education at Barnard College after her high school education in 1984. She made two appearances in Broadway Production’s “The Real Thing” and “Hurly-burly” in the early days of her undergrad. She made her maiden television appearance on the show at 9 as one of the “impostors”.

She revealed in 2018 that her oldest son is transgender. In 2009, Nixon got engaged to education activist Christine Marinoni subsequently getting married in 2012. On February 7, 2011, the couple welcomed their son Max.
