American football wide receiver and return specialist Donovan Peoples-Jones, also known as “DPJ,” plays for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football Association (NFL).

Donovan Peoples-Jones NFL Early Life

Eddie Jones and Roslyn Peoples gave birth to Peoples-Jones in Michigan, USA, on February 19, 1999. Since Charles Rogers in 2000, he was considered the best wide receiver recruit from the state of Michigan while attending Cass Technical High School. He was a five-star recruit. In November 2016, MLive Media Group recognized him as Michigan’s top high school football player for the year. At Cass Tech, he finished his career with 60 receptions for 1,071 yards and 17 scores. He decided to join the University of Michigan’s team in December 2016. He was a football player for the Michigan Wolverines at the University of Michigan. His 39 receptions for 541 yards and seven scores during the 2018 season were a team high.

He was selected to the third-team All-Big Ten special teams and offensive teams following the season, respectively, by coaches, the media, and both. He was given honorable mention on the media’s All-Big Ten offensive team and third team for special teams after the 2019 season. Peoples-Jones declared in January 2020 that he would forgo his final season of eligibility in order to declare for the 2020 NFL selection.

Peoples-Jones was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 187th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. On May 20, 2020, he committed to the Browns by signing his rookie deal. He caught three passes for a total of 56 yards and the game-winning score in Week 7’s 37-34 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in October 2020. Against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14, he had three receptions for 74 yards and a two-point convert. On December 26, 2020, the club placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and on December 31, he was activated.

Week 6 of the NFL season in October 2021 featured a Hail-Mary at the conclusion of the first half and Peoples-Jones catching 4 passes for 101 yards and 2 scores against the Arizona Cardinals. He had five receptions for 90 yards in Week 14 as the Baltimore Ravens were defeated 24-22. He won over the Texans 27–14 in Week 13 of the 2022 season and was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his 76-yard punt return score. Despite not being married, Peoples-Jones is dating UFC competitor Valerie Loureda.
