At the age of nine, her parents divorced. Her father’s remarriage produced two half-siblings. She graduated from Columbia High School inn Maplewood, New Jersey in 1981, Elizabeth after her high school attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts. In 1985, she was transferred to Harvard with just one semester left in order to pursue an acting career. In 2000, she returned to Harvard to complete her BA in political science.
