Virginia Elizabeth Davis commonly known as Geena Davis is an American actor cum producer. Geena is decorated with various several awards including an Academy Award as well as a Golden Globe. Geena is 1.83m tall.
Early Life
Geena Davis was born to Lucile Cook and William F. Davis on January 21, 1956 in Warehem, Massachusetts. Her mother was a teacher’s assistant and her father was a civil engineer and church deacon. Geena has a brother called Danforth.
At a very young age, Geena had learned and could play the flute, piano and organ very well. She played the organ at her church in Warehem. Geena attended Warehem High School and was on an exchange program at Sandviken, Sweden. She enrolled into Boston University in 1979 albeit never completed her bachelor’s. She worked as a model post university.
Career
Geena made her maiden appearance in a movie in 1982 when she was cast by Sydney Pollack in “Tootsie”. The film got ten Academy Awards nominations. She played Wendy Killian in the television series Buffalo Bill. Notwithstanding chalking the incredible feat of eleven Emmy Awards nominations, indifferent ratings led to the cancellation of the series after just two seasons.
Geena also featured in Knight Rider, Riptide, Family Ties and Remington Steele. She later came out with a series of her own, “Sara”. Over the course of her career, she made various appearances in a several films.
Davis was cast in “Beetlejuice” directed by Tim Burton. Beetlejuice was a huge commercial success raking in a mouth-watering $73.7 million. Geena received an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for her role as an animal hospital employee, a dog trainer with a sickly son.

Personal Life
After months of dating restaurateur Richard Emmolo, the two got married on 25th March, 1981. The couple divorced on June 27, 1984. Geena was briefly engaged to Christopher McDonald.
She met Jeff Goldblum an actor in 1985. The two tied the knot in 1987. The couple featured in The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy. The marriage came to an end in 1991 with Geena describing her relationship with Jeff as a magical chapter in her life.
On September 18, 1993, Geena married filmmaker Renny Harlin after having dated bodyguard Gavin de Becker. She filed for divorce on 26th August, 1997 after her personal assistant gave birth to Harlin’s child.
Geena got married to Reza Jarrahy on September 1, 2001. The couple have three children; a daughter and fraternal twins. Jarrahy filed for divorce in May, 2018.
