American linebacker Eugene Antonio Hayes, known professionally as Geno Hayes, played competitively in the National Football League (NFL). From 2008 until his passing in 2021, he was a National football league player. He weighted 103 kg and stood 1.85 meters tall.
Geno Hayes NFL Early Life And Death
In Miami, Florida, USA, on August 10, 1987, Hayes was born. His parents and siblings are unfortunately unknown. He participated in football and running at Madison County High School. He recorded 130 stops as a junior in 2003, 20 tackles for a loss, 19 sacks, and three interceptions. He added 124 tackles, 27 for loss, and 11 sacks during his senior year. After graduating from high school, he entered at Florida State University where he played college football for the Seminoles. In his true rookie year, he participated in all 13 games and recorded 17 tackles, one pass breakup, and two quarterback hurries.
After Timmons and Buster Davis graduated in his junior year, he assumed control of the Seminoles’ linebacker group. He began the season as a weakside linebacker and finished second on the squad in tackles (80), first in tackles for loss (17.5), and second in quarterback sacks (5.0). He was chosen for the Atlantic Coast Conference’s first squad. Hayes was diagnosed with chronic liver disease two years prior, and on April 22, 2021, he started receiving hospice treatment at his parents’ house. He passed away in Valdosta, Georgia, on April 26, 2021, at the age of 33.

Geno Hayes NFL Career
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Hayes with the 175th overall selection in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played in nine games during his debut season, mostly on special teams. He played for the Tampa Bay Bucs for four seasons before signing a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears on April 19, 2012. On March 13, 2013, he committed to a two-year, $2 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars after playing for the Bears for a season. He was listed as working for the Jacksonville Jaguars prior to his passing. With his wife Shevelle, Hayes had two children: a son named Gemarri and a girl named Skylar. Hayes was a very good player. It is unfortunate he died at an early age.
