Hayden Hurst plays American football professionally as tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He has been active in the NFL since 2018. He is 1.93 m tall and weighs 113 kg.

Hayden Hurst NFL Early Life

August 1993 saw the birth and upbringing of Hurst in Florida, USA. Cathy and Jerry Hurst are his parents. He played baseball and football for the Bulldogs sports teams while a student at The Bolles School. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in the 17th round of the MLB draft in 2012 after he finished. Despite being offered a baseball scholarship by Florida State, he chose to join with the Pirates instead, receiving a $400,000 signing bonus. He tried football after three baseball seasons because he had “the yips” and gave up playing baseball. In addition to enrolling at the University of South Carolina, he also played collegiate football for the Gamecocks of South Carolina.

Hurst appeared in each of South Carolina’s 12 games in 2015 as a true freshman, catching eight passes for a total of 106 yards. He participated in all 13 of the games in 2016 as a junior and caught at least one pass in each one. He caught 48 receptions in total for 616 yards. The following spring, he received a bursary. As a junior in 2017, he participated in all 13 games and caught 44 passes for 559 yards and two scores. In December 2017, he made his 2018 NFL Draft selection official.

At number 25 overall in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens chose Hurst. He committed to a four-year, $11 million contract in June, with a $6.1 million signing bonus. In October 2018, late in the fourth quarter of a 21-36 defeat to the Carolina Panthers, he caught his first touchdown catch of his career. He ended the 2018 season with a total of 13 receptions for 163 receiving yards and one receiving score. In total, he had 30 receptions for 349 receiving yards and two receiving scores by the end of the 2019 season. He caught four passes for 53 yards and a score in the 12-28 defeat to the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

The Ravens and Atlanta Falcons reached an agreement to trade Hurst in March 2020. That month, the agreement was made binding. Hurst will become a free agent after the 2021 season because the Falcons chose not to activate the fifth-year option on his contract in May 2021. He suffered an ankle injury in November 2021, went on injured reserve, and was reinstated in December. In March 2022, Hurst agreed to a one-year deal with the Cincy Bengals. Hurst is not married and is not engaged but is in a relationship with a lady called Brooke Sharp. He has no children yet.
