Hulk Hogan Early Life
Hulk Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea on August 11, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia. His family relocated to Tampa, Florida while he was still a baby. He called Tampa home. Growing up, he had strong passion for baseball which attracted a number of big league scouts.

He began by wrestling a match for the CWF promotion in Fort Myers, Florida in 1977 before later adopting a masked character known as “The Super Destroyer”. The following year saw him fight in Japan while still with the WWF. He assumed the role of Thunderlips in “Rcoky III” whcih fetched him 15 grand with the added advantage of exposing him to a wider audience.
This led him to part ways with the WWF for the first time. Hogan made a return in 1983 at which time McMahon’s son had taken over the company from his dad with an entirely new focus on more mainstream success for the sport. He wanted Hulk Hogan as the face of the company.

He got married to Linda Claridge in December 1983. The couple have two children, a daughter and a son. In 2007, after rumors of Hulk’s infidelity, Linda filed for divorce. His net worth was said to be around $30 million at the time.
His investments in several businesses and real estate around Florida was also revealed. He continues to earn from sale of merchandise and residuals with his brand, Hulk Hogan. Hulk was made to pay Linda 70% of the couple’s liquid assets after the divorce was finalized. He hemorrhaged a lot through the divorce. He admitted that the divorce almost put him on the brink of bankruptcy.
