Early Life
Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop on December 13, 1967 in Terrel, Texas. He was adopted and brought up by his grandparents Esther Marie and Mark Talley shortly after he was born. Jamie had virtually no contact with his parents growing up. He attributes his career success to his grandmother’s influence.
At a very young age of five, he had began playing the piano and already cracking the ribs of his mates in elementary school. During his school days, he got very stellar grades, played basketball and was also the quarterback for Terrel High School football team. Jamie got a scholarship to United States International University and studied musical and performing art composition.
Career
He rose to a cast member of the hit sketch comedy show “In Living Color” just two years into performing stand-up comedy. He stayed with In Living Color for the last three seasons. Jamie was handed his own show after the conclusion of In Living Color which ran from 1996 until 2001, five seasons, 100 episodes as well nominated for a number of Images, Kid’s Choice and NAACP Awards.
