The New York Jets and the New England Patriots have kept what is regarded as a major rivalry since the American Football League’s inception. Prior to the Jets’ 38-28 loss to the Patriots at Shea Stadium in 1966, which eliminated their chances of competing in Super Bowl I, the rivalry had been comparatively peaceful. When the Jets were beaten by New England 26–14 in the wild card round in 1985, the Patriots reciprocated by defeating the Bears in the Super Bowl XX.
In 2023, how many draft picks will the Jets have? In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Jets will have six picks. These six are each of their personal picks from Rounds 1 through 6. Their seventh-round pick is not theirs. Together with nose tackle Steve McLendon, that pick was sent to Tampa Bay last season. Tampa’s sixth-round pick in 2022 was given to the Jets as compensation.

The Jets have access to the most premium draft money between the 2021 and 2022 NFL Drafts. Not only did they have recent two- and four-win seasons under their belts, but Jamal Adams and Sam Darnold also provided them with big returns.
The Jets selected seven players in the top 40 picks during the previous two rounds. This year, they won’t quite have the luxury of it. With their first pick, the Jets were in the same range as when they selected Garrett Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker.
The Jets were able to select Elijah Moore and Breece Hall at picks 44 and 45, respectively. For the Jets to make the playoffs in 2023, they will need to re-acquire two players with immediate impact at the ages of 13 and 44, as well as perhaps a third player at the age of 75.
