Football guard, Joel Michael Bitonio plays in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns. He has been selected for five Pro Bowls, two first teams, and three second teams All-Pro teams during the course of his NFL career.

Joel Bitonio Early Life

Bitonio was born on October 11, 1991, to Mike and Debbie Bitonio in San Pedro, California in the United States of America. His mother Debbie Bitonio is a teacher, and Mike Bitonio, his father, was a mixed martial fighter. He lost his father in 2010. Bitonio excelled in three sports while attending Long Beach Wilson High School. As a senior, he was selected for the football and basketball Dream Teams of the Long Beach Press Telegram. He was the Moore League Lineman of the Year and a two-time all-league pick in football.

He was chosen for the first team All-Conference and second team All-State by From 2009 through 2013, he attended the University of Nevada, where he played college football for the Nevada Wolf Pack. From his sophomore redshirt season until his senior year, he started 39 straight games. He was chosen for the All-Mountain West Conference team as a senior.

Joel Bitonio Career

With the 35th overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Bitonio. He extended his deal with the Browns for a further five years in March 2017, taking it to the 2022 campaign. After starting all 16 games at left guard, he was selected for his first Pro Bowl and second team All-Pro. He was listed as being injured for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Along with three of his colleagues, Myles Garrett at defensive end, Jack Conklin at tackle, and Wyatt Teller at guard, he was selected to the 2020 NFL All-Pro Team.

The team placed him on the reserve/COVID-19 list on January 5, 2021, and he was activated by the team on January 15. He agreed to a three-year, $48 million contract extension until the 2025 campaign on November 10, 2021. Since July 18, 2016, Joel Bitonio and Courtney Bitonio have been a blissful couple. Together, the couple is the parent of two kids: son Benjamin and daughter Zoey.
