John Fogerty
John Forgerty is an American musician, singer, guitarist and songwriter. John has a net worth of $90 million. He is popularly known for his lead singer and lead guitarist role for the band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR); a group he founded with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook and his brother Tom Fogerty. The group earned the enviable record of nine top-10 singles as well as eight gold albums.
John started his career in 1973 under the name, “The Blue Ridge Rangers” after the CCR parted ways in 1972. After a short period of hibernation, John made a reappearance in 1985 releasing his first album for Warner Bros. records. His recent performance was with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl.
Early Life
John Cameron Fogerty was born on 28 May, 1945 in Bekerley, California. John is the third of five boys to Galen Robert and Edith Lucile Fogerty. He was raised in El Cerrito. His father worked as a Linotype operator for the Berkeley Gazette in California while his mother taught second grade.
John started his schooling at a Catholic School in Berkeley. John recounts times where he wet himself because he would not be allowed to go to the bathroom during class. He later after a year enrolled in Harding Grammar School. John formed a cover band with Stu Cook and Doug Clifford called the “Blue Velvets”. The band’s name was changed without their approval after signing with Fantasy Records to “The Golliwogs”. The group recorded a number of records which did not see much commercial success.
Career
Fogerty’s career assumed momentum after he left the military. In 1968, his band Credence Clearwater Revival released their maiden album. The single “Susie Q” was a hit. Other hit songs include; “Bayou Country”, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Run Through the Jungle” as well as “Fortunate Son”. In 1972, the band split due to internal wrangling. The CCR made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
Fogerty afte the split took to his solo career and released his debut solo album under the group name “The Blue Ridge Rangers”, after which he followed with “John Fogerty” his second album. After taking a break from the industry, John made a return in 1985 with “Centerfield” which became bigger than his previous. Fogerty took another break only to return in 1997 with the album, “Blue Moon Swamp”. This album won him a Grammy for Best Rock Album.
John Fogerty over the next few years released albums like “Deja Vu All Over Again” and “The Long Road Home”.
Personal Life
John Fogerty got married to his first wife Martha paiz in 1965. The couple divorced in the mid 1970s with three children. He found new love in 1986 with Julie Kramer while on tour in Indianapolis, Indiana. The two got married on 20th April, 1991 in Elkhart, Indiana. The couple has two sons Shane and Tyler and a daughter Kelsy.
