Wide receiver Joshua Keith Palmer, who was born in Canada and plays for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League, is a professional football player. He is one of the team’s younger players and started playing professional football in 2021.
Josh Palmer – Early Life
Palmer was born to Keith and Alethia Palmer in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, on September 22, 1999. His two sisters are Lanisha and Keiana. He initially attended St. Roch Catholic Secondary School, where he participated in running, basketball, and football. He played in American summer football camps, garnering interest from several Division I football programs, and decided to move to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida for his last two years of high school.
His 32 receptions for 506 yards and eight touchdowns during his senior year earned him a spot on the second team of the Class 7A All-State squad. He attended the University of Tennessee after graduating from high school and played collegiate football for the Tennessee Volunteers. In his first season with the Volunteers, he participated in all 12 games and caught nine receptions for 98 yards. As a sophomore, he was named the team’s starting wide receiver.
He finished the year with 23 receptions for 484 yards and two touchdowns in addition to one touchdown on the ground. As a junior, he hauled in 34 passes for 457 yards and a score. He had 33 receptions for 475 yards and four touchdowns by the time of his senior year, which was cut short to nine games by COVID-19.

As the 77th overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft, Palmer was taken by the Los Angeles Chargers in the third round. The ensuing 2021 CFL Draft did not include him despite the fact that he was eligible and the top-ranked Canadian talent. In July 2021, the Chargers offered him a four-year rookie deal. In Week 1 against the Washington Football Team, he had one catch for 17 yards, making his NFL debut. In a 27-24 loss against the New England Patriots in Week 8 of the season, he scored his first career touchdown on a 24-yard reception. He has played in every one of the 17 games during his first season, starting five of them.
With 33 receptions for 353 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns, he had a successful 2021 season. He recorded eight receptions for 106 receiving yards in Week 9 of the 2022 season versus the Atlanta Falcons. Palmer played in 16 games, 11 of which he started, before the end of the 2022 season. In total, he caught 72 passes for 769 receiving yards and three touchdowns.. Palmer is not married. He is currently not dating anyone and has no children yet.
