Ken Block was born on November 21, 1967 in Long Beach, California. Ken was bred and raised in California. Ken went to Orange Glen High School in Escondido, California. He was raised by his parents. Block has chosen to keep it discrete when it comes to his family.
He started his career as a draughtsman but dropped it. He later had a stint in snowboarding in Colorado which didn’t succeed leading to his return back to California.
Career
Ken Block’s career started in 2005 with Vermont SportsCar. His great talent in the sport earned him “Rookie of the Year” in the Rally America Championship that same year. Ken has the enviable accolade of five X Games medals. In 2013, he won silver at Global X Games Barcelona RallyCross.
Ken’s talents in driving and marketing earned him global acclaim. His Gynkhana series of videos is a major success with over 50 million views on the franchise. The franchise made the top ten viral video charts including the One Show Interactive Gold Pencil Award in the Online Films & Video/Long Form category.
Ken became one of only four Americans to ever score points in the World Rally Championship in January 2010 when he signed with Ford. Block gave his team the name Hoonigan racing Division.
