Rhodes was traded by the New York Jets to the Arizona Cardinals on March 6, 2010, in exchange for a 2010 fourth-round draft pick and a 2011 seventh-round pick.

For the Cardinals in the 2010–2011 regular season, Rhodes started all 16 games and participated. Rhodes dismissed the claim that he was on the NFL teams’ blacklist in a February 2014 interview with ESPN. He claimed that his absence from the league was “a consequence of me wanting to do other things and not finding the appropriate chance,” alluding to his interests in acting and producing as well as the compensation provided.
