KJ Wright, full name Kenneth Bernard Wright Jr. Happens to be a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League from 2011 till his retirement in 2022.

KJ Wright NFL Early Life

Kenneth Wright Sr. And Jacquelyn Wright welcomed Wright into the world on July 23, 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States. He played football while he was a student at Olive Branch High School. During his senior year, he made 91 total tackles, 48 of which were solo tackles. According to Rivals.com, he was ranked as Mississippi’s No. 19 prospect. He attended Mississippi State University after high school and participated in the Bulldogs’ collegiate football program. He was given the opportunity to start on defense as an outside linebacker during his sophomore season. The rest of his college career saw him start, with the exception of his senior year, when he missed two games due to formation changes.

Wright registered for the 2011 NFL Draft and attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indiana, participating in all of the drills. With the 99th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks selected him in the fourth round. He signed a $486,00 signing bonus-inclusive, four-year, $2.52 million contract with the Seahawks in July. He made his first career start and his first regular-season start in the Seahawks’ season-opening game against the San Francisco 49ers, recording a total of five tackles. He began playing strong side linebacker for the first time in October. With 65 total tackles, three pass deflections, and two sacks in 16 games and 12 starts, he finished his rookie season.

On December 18, 2014, the Seahawks inked Wright to a four-year, $27 million contract that featured a $5 million signing bonus and a $10.18 million guarantee. He extended his deal with the Seahawks for an additional two years and $15.5 million in March 2019. He spent ten seasons with the Seahawks before signing a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in September 2021, which brought him back together with Gus Bradley, the Seahawks’ previous defensive coordinator. He formally retired from the Seahawks in July 2022 by signing a one-day contract. Nathalie Wright, his wife, is his wife. On May 27, 2017, they exchanged vows in Seattle. Kam Joe and Kaleyus Antonio are the couple’s two sons.
