Kyler Murray Early Life
Kevin Murray, a former football player, and Misun Henderson welcomed Murray into the world on August 7, 1997 in Texas, the United States. He attended Allen High School, where as a senior he won two Mr. Texas Football honors and was named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year. He enrolled at the university after high school and played NCAA football for the Texas A&M Aggies football team in 2015.
In December 2015, he formally announced his move to the University of Oklahoma. Due to NCAA transfer rules, he had to miss the 2016 season. He played in the Sooner football season for Oklahoma. In the regular season of 2018, he threw for more than 4,000 yards and 42 touchdowns and ran for over 1,000 yards and 12 rushing scores. He was named the nation’s top collegiate football player in December 2018, giving Oklahoma back-to-back Heisman winners. Murray declared his intention to participate in the 2019 NFL Draft in January 2019.

In the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Murray was selected by the Arizona Cardinals. On September 2019, he took the field for his first NFL game against the Detroit Lions, finishing with 308 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and one interception. Together with 544 rushing yards and four rushing scores, he also had 3,722 throwing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions at the end of his debut season. He was also chosen as an alternate for the Pro Bowl. He received the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at the NFL Honors on February 1 in recognition of his season-long accomplishment.
In the NFL Top 100 Players of 2020 list, he was ranked 90th by his fellow players. With 3,971 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and 11 rushing touchdowns, Murray ended the 2020 season. He appeared in 14 games in 2021 and concluded the regular season with 3,787 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in addition to 88 carries for 423 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. His fifth-year option was exercised by the Cardinals in April 2022. Murray agreed to a five-year, $230.5 million contract extension with the Cardinals in July 2022, including a $160 million guarantee.
