Bowden Jr. Was born on October 14, 1997, to Bowden Sr. And Melissa Phillips in Youngstown, Ohio, the United States. He first attended Liberty High School, where he was a running back in his first year before switching to quarterback as a sophomore for the Leopards. He rushed for 1,782 yards and gained 761 yards through the air while throwing 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.
As a junior, he changed schools to Warren G. Harding High School after his family relocated to Warren, Ohio. He gained a total of 57 touchdowns as a senior while passing for 1,366 yards and rushing for 2,277 yards. He was named the OHSAA Division II Offensive Player of the Year and finished second for Ohio’s Mr. Football Award.

He attended at the University of Kentucky after completing high school and played collegiate football for the Kentucky Wildcats. He switched to wide receiver as a true freshman, when he caught 17 passes for 210 yards and was the Wildcats’ main kick returner. His 67 receptions for 745 yards and five touchdowns, which were both team highs, along with his five punt returns for 146 yards and two scores, as well as his 27 kickoff returns for 539 yards, put him on the Paul Hornung Award watch list heading into his second campaign. After participating in Kentucky’s bowl game and skipping his senior season, he declared that he would join the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders selected Bowden Jr. With the 80th overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Miami Dolphins in September 2020 along with a sixth-round draft pick for 2021. On September 20, 2020, he played against the Buffalo Bills in his NFL debut, catching one ball for a one-yard loss. On November 6, 2020, the team put him on the reserve/COVID-19 list until activating him on November 12. In Week 14 against the Kansas City Chiefs, he played for the first time in a meaningful capacity, catching seven catches for 82 yards. He was put on injured reserve in August 2021, and the Dolphins released him from that status in August 2022.
Bowden Jr. Signed on to the practice squad of the New England Patriots on September 1, 2022. On January 31, 2023, he committed to the group by signing a reserve/futures deal. He is single, and little is known about his prior relationships. He has a son and a daughter. Sadly, the mothers of his son and daughter remain a mystery.
