Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee, USA. Her parents are Tish Finley and Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley had a medica condition (supraventricular tachycardia) at birth. Her name, Destiny was given by her parents because they believed she was destined for greater things in life. Her constantly smiling nature as a child made her parents give her the nickname “Smiley”. The corrupted form of her nickname is “Miley”.
She later adopted this name, legally changing her name to Miley Ray Cyrus in 2008. During the filming of the television series “Doc” in 2001, her family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Miley grabbed her father’s hand and told him, “This is what I want to do, dady. I want to be an actress” after her father took her to see a production of “Mamma Mia!. True to her words, she began singing and acting lessons at the Armstrong Acting Studio in Toronto.
Career
Miley cut her teeth in acting by playing Kylie in the television series “Doc” produced by her father. She won the audition for the lead role in a new Disney show about an average girl with a secret identity as a pop star. Miley received recognition with the show “Hannah Montana”.
It gave Miley the much needed leverage both as an actress and songwriter. She signed a contract with Hollywood Records to release a two-disc “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus in June 2007. She is the brain behind such tracks as “Breakout”, Can’t Be Tamed”, “Bangerz” – all making very significant inroads.
She released “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” in 2015, “Younger Now” in 2017, “She is Miley Cyrus” in 2020. Her breakthrough singles are; The Climb, Party in the USA, We Can’t Stop” as well as “Wrecking Ball”. She has served as a mentor and a coach on the reality singing competition “The Voice”.

Miley dated Lucas Till and Josh Bowman both actors shortly before reuniting with Hemsworth.
