Paul Wall was born on March 11, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Paul attended Jersey Village High School in Houston. After he finished High school, he enrolled at the University of Houston. At the University of Houston, Paul studied mass communication for three years. He came across local rapper Chamillionaire and began working together releasing mixtapes. The duo managed to get Michael “5000” Watts to allow them rap on his radio station. The pals garnered public attention and interest from there. They continued recording mixtapes as well as featuring on other rappers’ mixtapes -each new mixtape was a better iteration of the previous. Their mixtapes began opening doors of opportunities for them. Paul and Chamillionaire signed a one-album contract with Paid in Full Records. The album “Get Ya Mind Correct” was released in 2002. It was well received, selling in excess of 200,000 copies.

Paul released his debut album “Chick Magnet” in 2004 under Paid in Full Records. It ranked number 54 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He signed to Atlantic Records and Asylum Records a year later and released his second album “The Peoples Champ”. The album was an immediate success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 receiving the platinum certification later by the RIAA. His singles “Sittin’ Sidewayz” and “Girl” were both certified gold in the US. Paul released his second and final collaboration studio album with Chamillionaire dubbed “Controversy Sells” in 2005.
