Satya started his career at Sun Microsystems- an American computer and software company. He served on Sun Microsystems’ technology staff before later moving to Microsoft in 1992. He in time built a reputation as a very key figure at Microsoft. Satya was very instrumental in leading a movement towards cloud computing and ultimately helped develop one of the largest cloud infrastructures in the world. He made his way up the ranks very rapidly. Satya first served as the senior vice-president of R&D for Microsoft’s Online Services Division.
