Tim Tebow, also known as Timothy Richard Tebow in the NFL, is an American football player who is now available as a free agent.

Tim Tebow NFL Early Life

Tebow was born on August 14, 1987, in the Philippine city of Makati. Robert Ramsey Tebow II and Pamela Elaine are his parents. Tebow is the youngest of a brood of five. He played football and participated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl while a student at Allen D. Nease High School. He got a scholarship after high school to play football for coach Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators at the University of Florida.

He became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy when he was given it in December 2007. He received 462 first-place votes, 1,957 total points, and was 254 points better than his rivals. He held the career passing efficiency and rushing touchdown records for the Southeastern Conference when his collegiate career came to an end.

Tebow entered the 2010 NFL Draft after declining the 2009 draft to play his final year at Florida. With the 25th overall choice in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos made him their first-round pick. He committed to the Broncos in July, agreeing to a five-year deal with a base salary of $11.25 million. $8.7 million was promised as part of the agreement. On December 19, he began his first NFL game, which the Oakland Raiders lost 39-23 on the road. In six games as a backup, he played infrequently to conclude his rookie season.

He was the Denver Broncos’ backup quarterback as the 2011 season got underway. The New York Jets acquired Tebow in a trade on March 21, 2012. The Jets released him in April of 2013. In the one season he spent with the team, he only completed eight passes while running 32 times. The day before the group’s required minicamp, in June 2013, the New England Patriots signed him. In 2014, he agreed to a two-year deal with incentives based on playing time but no money that was promised. With the Philadelphia Eagles, he agreed to a one-year deal in April 2015. He completed 21 of 36 passes for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception while also rushing for 82 yards and a score. On September 5, after the fourth preseason game, he was let go by the organization. Tebow contacted Urban Meyer, the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars at the time, about getting back into football in May 2021, six years after taking a break from the sport. He was given a one-year, $920,000 veteran minimum deal by the Jaguars as a tight end, with no guarantees.

On August 17, 2021, the Jaguars released him. He hadn’t played on spec or caught any passes. Demi-Leigh Neil-Peters, a South African model and the 2017 Miss Universe, is Tebow’s wife. On January 20, 2020, a 30-minute ceremony in South Africa resulted in the couple’s legal marriage. They haven’t had children yet.
