American film production facility called Tyler Perry Studios (TPS) was established in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2006 by actor, director, and playwright Tyler Perry. Thanks to TPS, the largest film production firm in the nation, Perry became the first African-American to hold full control of a prominent film production studio.
