Early Life
Victoria Principal was born on 3rd January, 1950 in Fukuoka, Japan. She was born to Air Force Sergeant Victor Rocco Principal and Ree Veal. owing to her father’s job, Vic was regularly on the move. She lived in places such as London, Puerto Rico, Florida and Massachusetts.
Vic went to the Royal Ballet School while in London after having attended about 17 different schools. In 1968, Vic graduated from Miami’s South Dade Senior High School. Her dream to pursue a career in medicine took her to Miami-Dade Community College.
She sustained injuries after a car accident. Vic lost the first year of her academic work and was confronted with the decision to take the whole first year again. She decided to change careers and move to New York City. Vic moved to London to take courses with professor Jean Scott at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Career
In 1970, Vic got her first role in John Houston’s “The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean”. Her performance was crowned with the Most Promising Newcomer award. She played varied roles in movies like “The Naked Ape”, “Earthquake” and “The Night They Took Miss Beautiful”.
Vic had almost switched career from acting to Law when a friend of hers left a “Dallas” script her. She was moved by the script to the extent that she called the casting agent for an audition landing the role of Pamela Barnes Ewing. Vic decided to leave the the series in 1987. She was decorated with a Golden Globe Award in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series category.
She played various roles in “”Blind Witness”, “Home Improvement”, “Michael Kael vs. the World News Company” and “Titans”.
In 1989, Principal started her line of skincare products called Principal Secret. She started Keys & Hearts a jewelry line in 2011. She is the author of health, fitness and general wellbeing books. Her works include; “The Body Principal”, “The Beauty Principal” as well as “The Diet Principal”.
Personal Life
Vic got married to writer-producer Christopher Skinner in 1978. The love affair lasted only two years. The couple filed for divorce in 1980. Vic met Andy Gibb. The duo recorded a duet love song “All I Have to Do Is Dream” together. The relationship however came to an abrupt end in 1982.
