Wayne Brady is an American actor, comedian, singer and television personality. Brady has about $12 million in net worth as at January 2023. Most people remember him for his work as a regular on the American version of the comedy series “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”.
He wrote, produced and starred in “The Wayne Brady Show” from 2001 to 2004. His fame continues to grow even after the show was canceled courtesy his personality- easy going and effervescent.

Wayne Brady Early Life
Wayne Brady was born Wayne Alphonso Brady on June 2, 1972 in Columbus, Georgia. He was born to Linda (mother, worked at a hospital) and Wayne (father, drill sergeant in the Army). Brady was sent to live with his paternal grandmother, Valerie in Florida owing to the fact that his father was overseas and his mother was a young mother aged 17.
Brady refers to his paternal grandmother as “Mom”. Brady suffered from bullying during his early years, his anxiety caused him to stutter. He went to Dr. Phillips High School and graduated in 1989. Brady was good friends with Joey Fatone who later became NSYNC member.
Brady began his act at the age of 16, performing in theatrical productions which helped him nurture his skill at SAK Comedy Lab. Brady whilst a kid toyed with the idea of joining the military. IN 1990, he started the University of Miami before relocating to Los Angeles in 1996.

Wayne had his television debut with “Superboy” before guest-starring three years later on “I’ll Fly Away” as well as “In the Head of the Night”. Between 1996 and 1999, Brady appeared on “Kwik Witz” before he was featured on three episodes of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”.
The American rendition of the show launched that year. Brady was a regular performer on the Drew Carey hosted series. His sterling performances earned him three Emmy nominations, winning eventually, the third time in 2003. He was a constant feature on the show until it ended in 2007 before the 2013 revival, hosted by Aisha Tyler.
During the run of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, he appeared in “Going to the Mat” in 2004, “Roll Bounce” in 2005 and “Crossover” in 2006. Brady also provided the voice for “Clifford’s Really Big Movie”, “Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild” and “The Adventures of Brer Rabit”. He started hosting the show “The Wayne Brady Show” in August 2001 before it was canceled in March 2002 and relaunched as a daytime talk show six months on. Wayne Brady Personal Life
Brady married Diana Lasso from December 31, 1993 to September 21, 1995. He wed Mandie Taketa on April 3, 1999, on February 3, 2003, the couple welcomed their daughter Maile Masako. Brady divorced Taketa in 2008.
He remains very open about his battle with clinical depression. He is a patron of the Ronald McDonald House Charities for over a decade.
